For over eight centuries "Decugnano" has been used to indicate the name of the land of the estate. The soil rich in fossils, oysters and shells, the micro climate and a wide temperature range are all factors particularly suitable for wine growing. Beside a very modern cellar, the visitor has the possibility to admire the Etruscan caves, today utilized for the production of the sparkling wine "spumante" and to mature certain wines in barrels. Within spectacular scenery, the Estate organizes guided tours to their cellars followed by wine tasting and local delicacies. WE ARE OPEN! Saturday & Sunday

Our family of 5 adults and two new friends spent an amazing afternoon on New Years Eve with Anna at Decugnano dei Barbi. The tour was very informative with breath taking views of Orvieto. The wine tasting room in and old chapel was historic and inviting and looks like the perfect setting for a romance novel. The tour was a... More

This was a very informative, small tour of a winery. The information was good, English well spoken by the tour guide. The actual tour of the wine making facility was not extensive, however the tour of the caves where the wine is aged (and the sparkling wine produced) was very interesting. If you are not in great shape, be advised... More

Dear Tgrella, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hearing that the tour was not to the standard expected, we always exceed clients expectation. Regarding the walk to the caves if clients point out that they have walking difficulty we accompany them by car, so it has never been an obstacle for anyone. We, however, delighted that your... Decugnano dei Barbi is the best wine tasting tour I have experienced in Tuscany. The grounds are absolutely stunning and Anna Rita was an interesting and warm tour guide. We arrived early to be on time. This vineyard is tucked away deep in the area but with a GPS and the "signs" it is relatively easy to find and hard... More

We had a small group of 6 adults who were in Orvieto for just a couple of days and we wanted to visit a winery. We hit the jack-pot with Decugnano Dei Barbi! It was a drive (30 minutes) up the hills across from Orvieto but once there, the views were amazing. This beautiful winery gave us a tour followed... More

While staying in Orvieto we had the pleasure of a wine tour and tasting with Anna Rita who acts as guide for the Barbi Wine Vineyards near the town. This is an extremely pleasant way to spend a free afternoon for anyone visiting Orvieto. Anna Rita had arranged for a taxi pickup from our hotel, about a 30 minute drive... More

My wife and I scheduled this tour on our way into Orvieto. The winery is located about 30' outside of town high up in the hills of Umbria. The views from the winery are stunning and you feel as if you can see forever. Our tour guide, Anna, was first class as we learned about the harvest, wine making, bottling,... More

We had an absolutely amazing host called Anna, who made us feel welcome from the start. The trip through the winery and how they process the grapes in today's time was interesting. Loved the cellars in the caves and learning more about the production of the sparkling wines. Overall an excellent afternoon spent with the family - lots of laughter... More

We had a very interesting and educational tour on this beautiful place. Anna Rita, a very charming hostess guided us through the history of the wineyard, the sandstone caves and, finally, the tasting of the wines combined with the delicacies of the area. Not only was the tour very professionally arranged, the booking and contact with Anna Rita upfront the... More

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this experience: the tour, the wines and the foods. Anna Rita was a wonderful host. And as a bonus, we got to meet the owner, who could not have been more gracious.
