The Orvieto Caves are amazing! It's hard to believe that an entire city is built right over these hollowed out cliffs. There are cave rooms for everything that the ancients may have needed. There are wells, cisterns, remnants of olive oil presses, quarries, cellars, and...More

Very nice tour, the guide was sweet and entertaining. The stories were informative, all you can ask from a guided tour. We loved it!

You should be physically able to visit. Steps and uneven floors. There is a small fee. Buy your tickets in the Duomo Square.

Brilliant, great guide, and indicates how the people of Orvieto 2-3000 years ago managed to survive. This is a cave open to the public but Orvieto is riddled with caves.

Terrific and inexpensive one-hour tour of a few of Orvietto's 1200 underground caves, originally built by the Etruscans who settled the area before the Romans! Knowledgeable tour guide. This is not a tour for people with strollers or mobility issues.

The caves were nice and cool and the tour was good, as she had lots of information. At times it felt a bit claustrophobic when doing the stairs but otherwise it was open.

This was the best part of Orvieto. The rest of the town was underwhelming having come from Tuscany and those amazing towns. The tour was excellent.

This was a well done tour. It is walking distance from the main square and takes about 1.5 hours. Our guide told us a lot about these caves and how they came to be. The history was very interesting to all. Well worth the time...More

Sorry for taking so long to react to your inquiry. The tour takes about one hour and I found it very interesting. For the rest of the town, I would have liked to stay at least 3 days. It was a great relief to get away from... More
