We didn't visit the inside but the frescoes over the arches were interesting to view with the aid of a local tourist guide. Without the guide we may not have understood the stories of each panel.

This is a must-see destination when visiting Pistoia. The medical school here during the Renaissance was world-famous and the scalpel was invented here...

Unfortunately I could not enter inside the Ospidale and the Pistoia Sotteranea was fully booked, but seeing the perfect architectural composition of the facade was enough to make the visit worth it. The cherry on the cake is the marvelous ceramic freeze on the facade - something spectacular that you do not see anywhere, not even in Florence. So make... More

For art lovers the facade with equisite paintings is worth a few minutes to admire. Pistoia Sotteranea tours commence in this building as well - which we didn´t explore.

For 9 euro we had the guided tour of the labyrinth. I think it was less than an hour, and the guide was excellent, and gave a basic overview of how the building was used initially, recently, through the labyrinth and explained how and why it was built as it was. Good humour and delivery of info. Well priced. Enjoyable... More

An interesting, and one of kind, museum of "Surgical Instrument" is located in Old Building of Ceppo. Also is it possible to visit the "Dissection Hall", recently restored. Two beatiful hidden jewels of Pistoia.

i had the chance to visit the frieze with a guided tour up on the scaffolding of the restoration work.... it's an impersonation of the entire society of italian renaisance period... it's extremely interesting to here the interpretation of the historians, as we don't know the meaning of those illustrations...
