Formally a military installation there is still some areas of the island that are off limits but the rest of it is beautiful. The walking is largely on tracks with good footing.

Less people than on trails in 5 terre. Simple hike around the island. The restaurant on the other side of the island make it possible to make a stop and take a rest.

This island, easily accessible from the center of Porto Venere, offers a great introduction to Cinque Terra. The trails which circumnavigate the island are somewhat challenging and they offer wonderful views of the surrounding extensive harbor waters. A restaurant, Locando Lorena, is worth a visit.
