Past the shops and restaurants. Past the grotto, you come to a very quaint little church perched on the last little bit of rock. Very worth the walk.

Really a lovely little church, slight uphill walk to get there but not bad. A wedding was taking place when we first arrived so church was closed to visitors but once wedding party left we were able to go in and enjoy the beauty of...More

You can see this church on your boat ride in. And honestly, there's not too much to look at Porto Venere besides this church anyway. When we visited this church, there was a wedding going on so we couldn't enter the main sanctuary but we...More

San Pietro in Portovenere is a must have been location to watch the sunset at the horizon over the thyrennian sea.

We didn’t realise at first that this is a working church still. We lit candles and made donations for the upkeep, it is also a good place to meditate a little. But the views....we all fell in love.

A small church in a very windy position at the end of the peninsula. We couldn't get inside because of some event, but there were great views from this area.

This quaint, historic, and small church is perched on the precipice overlooking the entrance to the harbor. It has sings of the evolution over the ages, so you can imagine the sacrifices and role it played in local lives. The large cobblestone steps leading up...More

This is a great little old church on a hill. Interesting architecture, small, you can climb up even higher outside for an amazing view in many directions. Lovely details inside and on the entry doors. While sailing away from Portovenere, looking up at the church...More

I believe this church dates back to the 1200's. The walk up to the church is very interesting, with the Grotta Byron on the right as you approach the church. The inside of the church was simple, and the views from the top were incredible....More
