First of all, check opening times because it is closed for several hours during the day. It is slightly different from what I expected in that there are a lot of velvet? drapes inside which I like but my wife didn't.

We had not reached baroque church saturation at this point in the trip so the church was still good. It is situated in the lower town which is probably the only part that you really need to go and see. Well worth a visit.

In the centre of the town of Modica. Very impressive baroque church. Definitely worth a visit. Modica is definitely worth a visit. Clean and many baroque style buildings

There are so many stunning churches in Sicily and this is another one. Most interesting bit was the Nuns singing with the primary schoolkids.

Amazing overall for the Baroque style and has to be on the list. Wish however to provide at entrance more information about the dome itself. It has to be one of the top objectives in Sicily.amazing on the outside and amazinf on the inside.

I did my 10000 steps just getting to this imposing cathedral on a hill in Modica. It is more impressive from the outside than it is inside. The inside is more a placid chapel than a cathedral but worth the walk up the large flight...More

Go mid-day to get the total effect of the amazing cupola with its clear glass. The church is so bright and you get to experience its baroque style.

The Duomo is stunning from the outside, unfortunately it was closed when we were there for the day and it was very confusing to find information as to when they would open. Would have loved to see the interior, it was unfortunate, so we sat...More

We stayed in Ragusa for two days as part of a tour and found this gem of a church near our hotel. The square facing their cathedral was actually our first stop on a town orientation walk the first night and we found the view...More
