The cathedral is very interesting but there is a little chapel where Piero Della Francesca is buried. It is very beautiful. There was one of the guides there who was really helpful and explained everything. The paintings and Della Robbia sculptures were excellent.

Though the church is much simpler than many of the other Cathedrals in the country, it is a nice quiet spot to enjoy the history and culture of the town. Make sure you check out the sculptural details in the front right corner of the...More

Wonderful church with an open feel. Visited by the last pope and there is a large plaque celebrating this and a peaceful place. Fantastic wooden crucifix which is very old but somehow seemed modern. Amazing

There are some extraordinary works by artists such as Perugino [1450 ca.-1523] ("The Ascension of Christ"), Bartolomeo della Gatta (1448-1502), Santi di...More

There's a lovely Magdalen by Piero d F half way down the nave on the left, after a dreary high baroque Bishop's sepulchre or some such nonsense.
