It's a long way to see this tomb of Homer at the North end of the island... the road ends up with a dead-end roundabout, it means that you are arrived, a short walk on a rough track and you see the rest of the tomb, with a portrait of Homer surrounded by lots of stone piles. It's historic but... More

At the end of the road there's a parking circle and a 15 minute walk up a gravely path to a hilltop overlooking the sea. With countless islands sprawled across the blue horizon Homer's grave rests in the wind. Mostly piles of rocks and stone walls to look at but far more if you turn on your sixth sense. The... More

Came here as we took the wrong turning but we I was here I went anyway. Not much to see really other than a view over to Naxos.

Whether this is this place where Homer's tomb was/is nobody knows and will probably never know. But does it matter if you are on Ios and would like to have a nice ride with a lot of beautiful scenery (mountain and sea) to "Homer's tomb" on a specially built road, some 20km from the port? It is near the northernmost... More

Homers Tomb is in the middle of nowhere, either you ride a motorcycle for hours to reach this desert spot or you support the locals by driving you to the place, where the "hidden eagle whispers to the blind owl" ... forget about it, biggest but greatest prank to call this an IOS sightseeing whatever!

Nice view and that is all. No scientific evidence that Homer tomb is there. Do not waste your time going there.

Lucky Homer that won a tomb in such a great spot. The view is impressive but that the only thing one might claim as impressive. There is no historical evidence or proof that this is indeed where Homer or his rests were burried. If you are visiting Ios in summer-time,choose to visit in a late afternoon in order to avoid the heat... More

The visit to the tomb has just been a "check, I've done it". Thanks to previous reviews I was not expecting anything from it as it is not even sure the remainings of the poet lies there. However, I still highly recommend to go there for the nice drive and all the beautiful pictures you can take. The view on... More

You will love the driving route but at the end you will not find anything very interesting. Just the felling that " I've been there". The view from the hill though is beautiful.
