We spend several weeks in Dordogne every summer with family and friends and the markers on Wednesdays and Sundays are well worth a visit: Amazing sausages, foie gras, nougat and local Monbazillac wine is available from local farmers and manufacturers. I recommend going early as...More

Sarlat lives from tourism. Most of the food and handicraft is great, but the tourist pressure becomes sometimes too great and the Sarlat market is a good example. Among the local made goods, you find a lot of tourist crap. This includes food products and...More

Good variety and quality of goods, no cheap tat! Markets on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, town busy but adequate parking.

Crowded, full of tatty stalls, some good quality artisan foods but mainly overpriced - the vendors know they will never see most of the customers again and act accordingly. For something more authentic try Brice market which is in the main frequented by locals.

Saturday is market day for food and other vendors. The whole central town is a giant market. Wonderful way to spend the morning.
