Three years ago our time in Barbizon was much shorter and we didn't get to spend a lot of time in the Studio. It was one of the main reasons my wife wanted to return last week and with a whole day in Barbizon she...More

This is a small museum, only three rooms. It is the house where Millet lived together with his partner and nine children and the largest rom with tall window was his studio. In the first room there was a chart of the artists who formed...More

The village of Barbizon – 'le village des peintres' as it is called in French – is beautiful, but it is hard to get and from. And expensive because one needs to hire a taxi, unless one has one’s own transport. For this reason I...More

A small museum housed in the former home of Francois Millet, the most famous artist of the Barbizon school. Known for the Angelus (de Millet). The exhibition is nothing special but it is interesting to see the actual place where Millet lived and worked.

Filled with pieces from Millets original studio. Great information. A real treat to see where Millet worked. The town is beautiful and highly recommend a day trip or stay over night.
