We planned our drive back through France to go over the viaduct and I am glad we did. It does a great job of reducing journey times - it's basic function - but it also provides amazing views both from it and of it. We...More

If travelling over the bridge, take the opportunity to stop at the rest station here. Where you see the bridge from a different aspect.

Awesome engineering feat. Place to stop on the northern side as you get of the bridge, to see the true size of the viaduct.

Probably the second best bridge in the world (after the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol). Great views, high up, nice surrounding scenery.

This was the highlight of the trip - excellent commentary by the batelier. The view of the viaduct from underneath was mind blowing. Would definitely recommend.

Barcelona to Millau by car (or minivan) is a 4 hour trip one way. Unless your group is totally into great engineering feats only I wonder if you would not like to extend your trip to include the (reconstructed) middle age... More
