Stunning building, inside the old abbey of Saint Vaast. Temporary exhibition Sacreblue on the presence of the colour blue in art. Some interesting works like the sawblade from Wim Delvoye or a very small Yves Klein. The permanent collection is enormous. Special emphasis on the Salle des Mays.

Very enjoyable experience. We stayed overnight in Arras whilst visiting WW1 Memorial sites in the region. Would highly recommend taking the time to visit the Museum...the building itself is breathtaking and the treasures inside very interesting. Free entry on Sundays a bonus!!

A wore down building. Big, but stil beautiful. Downside: everything only in french. Positive: a few big painters like Rubens and Breughel. If you have spare time...go see

This museum is amazing when one considers it is located in a provincial town. There is a superb collection of 'Religious' art from the 16th and 17th century, located in an attractive building all for €6!!!. A wonderful way to spend a morning.

We came across this lovely museum while on a walk exploring the city. We had the place mostly to ourselves and we really enjoyed the variety of the art on display. We loved the choices of distinct, bold colours in the various galleries that served to highlight the paintings very well. The one problem we had was the fact that... More

Good collection from medieval to 20th century, including excellent but little known local 19th century artists.

Went to see the exhibition of 100 pieces of art from Versailles - beautifully presented and well worth it. However, museum policy is to close for lunch and our visit to the rest of the collection was cut short.

We were lucky that our stay coincided with the Versailles exhibition which is on until early 2016. What can I say! It was almost better than being at Versailles itself! Obviously not the exterior but for details of the interior and some of the exhibits it was breathtaking. Bravo Arras!

It's rare to have an exhibition which is so well done and is interesting without being overwhelming and that was achieved with the Versailles exhibition. Having been to Versailles, this exhibition captured the essence and the chateau. The rest of the museum was ok but more traditional.

The temporary exhibition "Le chateau de Versailles en 100 chefs-d'oeuvre" is truly splendid. I realize how much we can gain when a work of art is observed in a less overloaded setting. It is not the same admiring a beautiful statue that share the space with few other pieces instead of placing the same statue in a room cramped with... More
