We had heard fabulous things about the WWI museum in Peronne and were anxious to check it out (we bought a 'dual' admission ticket with the sister museum in Thiepval). Unfortunately, the museum did not live up to anywhere near the hype. In fact, it...More

An informative museum, however the majority of it felt like reading through a history textbook. I was bored (even though I love history musuems normally) and so were my 9 yr old and 11yr old siblings. Each room had a very similar lay out with...More

We have been to some other First World War museums and I particularly rate the museum in Meaux. But this museum presents things in a slightly different way and provides clear and concise information to explain both the war and the significance of the exhibits....More

This was a fantastic museum but it left me a little puzzled! I couldn’t fault the exhibits, the way it was laid out or the trilingual explanations. The film using period footage was fascinating and I found I didn’t need the French commentary and the...More

This is a nice small museum that gives a good background to WWI - and includes a lot of interesting artifacts, such as posters, film clips and uniforms and soldiers' kits. We visited the day before we went to the museum at the Thiepval Memorial...More

This relatively new addition to the WW1 Museum listings is welcome and different. The perspective is very much person/community based. Clever use is made of uniform/ artefacts to illustrate the rapid development of the soldier's kit through the first years of war. An astonishing collection...More

A very interesting museum set out in a very novel way. This is well worth the visit. The displays and the interactive descriptions are very good. There is also a little cafe and shop on the site.

WW1 epotimises the struggles the French peoples endured from the invading German Armies. The Australians assisted the French in many towns nearby such as Pozieres where my grandfather was stationed between July 1916-1918
