Absolutely stunning. It's the most beautiful shell museum I've visited, even though I've traveled a lot. I found everything I observed during my dives in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The windows are superb and the shellfish, fish, crustaceans, etc. are sublime. What a beautiful staging. I also really appreciated the exchange I had with the receptionist, very enriching. Absolutely worth visiting. 1h30 of happiness.

Taking advantage of a rainy day, we returned to the museum. My daughter loved the quiz. Nice collection. Amazing varieties from around the world. Interesting explanations. The manager is passionate. I recommend to families with children over 6 years old
Affordable price of 9 euros for an adult.

Excellent welcome, during my visit in May with Anthony's mom or in July with the owners. Easy exchanges with passionate people.
Do not hesitate to devote time to see all the windows. We let you take pictures without restriction. A game is planned for children.
And the shop offers a wide choice around the shell.
Confirmed conchologists or neophytes, do not hesitate to visit this place.

Very friendly welcome and what to say about the museum! This is BEAUTIFUL! I was very pleasantly surprised and discovered a lot of things! It is proposed a game for children to make all along the route and at the end they even have the right to a small bag of shells! My daughter was delighted. The shop is also very pretty with lots of choices. I recommend 100%

We needed somewhere to shelter from a showery spell in Sables, and found the Museum du Coquillage by the port.
First off, there is little doubt that this is an impressive and hugely comprehensive collection of seashells, and we spent almost 2 hours walking around the venue, so the cost of entry was just about appropriate.
However... there is also little doubt that this is just an enormous room full of seashells, and a handful of the most curiously taxidermied sea animals I've ever seen. If it's not your thing, then you're ultimately not going to enjoy the experience.
Personally, the admission was worth it for the googly-eyed stuffed fish alone. I have no idea if it was deliberately kitsch or just a bit naff, though. It's worth a visit if only to decide for yourself!

We went to thsis museum during our visit in France in May. We (adults) found it a bit old and dusty but the kids loved it.

A lovely museum within a nice building near the harbour area ( good fish and chip booth nearby ).
It’s clearly quite niche being a museum of sea shells, sponges etc but it’s a great collection .
Colouring in sheets absorbed the kids for 30 mins and they received a gift at the end from the manager.
We coupled this visit with a day at the beach / a stroll around the beautiful harbour.

I really didn't realise as to how many shells there were in the world and how they are formed. Many of the exhibits here do have English translation of the information offered. It is really interesting. The place is immaculate inside and there are small activities for kids, ie colouring. Well worth a visit when in the area.
Les Sables town is lovely for a wander about, awesome beach.

We had a fantastic hour here. Never seen anything like it before. Beautifully laid out and just stunning. Owner was so helpful and showed our son the pride cowrie shell of his own collection. Recommended.

We loved our visit to the Shell Museum. Beautifully laid out, and very interesting. The shop shone with shells. €8 to visit the museum upstairs which was vast, full of colour and very educational. Loved it....
