We have seen archaeological sites throughout Europe, and find this one of the best. [the worst is in Frejus]. We wandered easily through the two separate areas, both offering a view of Roman baths, forums, etc. Highly recommend!!

An extensive site with well restored remains, particularly domestic, but also a theatre which is still used for performances. Good museum with interesting displays

We went to the archeological site even though you can see a lot from outside the fences, it's much more impressive to actually walk on the sidewalks, and enter the house remains. It's unbelievable to imagine that these archeological remains we're built so long ago,...More

After Pompeii this is the most evocative Roman town I have visited. You really get a sense of how they lived in their villas and can walk down a 2000 year old shopping street

What a fantastic museum and area. We had been before and spent just as much time on our return. We did not get the audio guide this time; we just wandered and enjoyed the gorgeous fall weather.

These sites are the main reason to visit this city although there are also some good restaurants and stores. The sites are well documented and well ,preserved.

While there are more complete Roman structures in Provence this site has two great videos to give you background and the museum has some wonderful pieces. This whole site is really well done.

Our trip to Provence included multiple sites (Arles, Nimes, Orange) to see Roman sites and ruins. It's really worthwhile to visit the two sites in Vaison if you want to learn more about Roman planning, engineering, architecture, lifestyle. There's a fine museum as part of...More
