I have been at Paradiski, Via Lattea, Val d'Isere/Tignes, Serre Chevalier, Chamrousse and this site, l'Alpe d'Huez, is the one I absolutely prefer. The chair lifts and the cable cars are fast enough, but most importantly, the runs here are among the longest (one is...More

Alpe d'Huez is very expensive. Food is ridicilously priced. A beer is 6 euro or a cappucino 5 euro. The town is very nice during summer. But you need good weather...

Despite going in mid April there was still plenty of snow and plenty of choices for skiing, whether that be at the top of the glacier, on the cruising blues around the resort or on the tree lined runs in the furthest corners of the...More

Large ski center with many slopes of various difficulties. There is also lot of lifts, so the waiting time is very short. Visited in 2/2017

Large ski region with many green and blue ski slopes. The city itself is like many others in the French region. Of course Alpe d'Huez is especially know for the Tour de France as an arrival point.

Great skiing even in late March, even if this was an exceptionally good year for snow. There is a wide range of runs for all levels including the ‘Sarenne’ run which is reputedly the longest black run in Europe and the infamous ‘Tunnel’ which requires...More

I always went with one foot strapped. Didn't actually think much more than that, but people do ride the lifts with no boards or skis too, so not sure if its a rule. I dont see why you would want it off anyway. 4 people on a... More

Alpe De Huez 1850 is where you want to stay! Anywhere near the main DMC lift as that is right by the ski school.
