Wow - Grandparents, Parents, Children Great there is some thing for everyone; the children get an activity to undertake on entry. The Grandparents and Parents get to support the children with their activity and enjoy the Village / Museum. Really worth the time and the little expense. Something new every visit.

This place is truly a worthy place to go visit. All the items are presented in clear way and able to see everything. We been to few historical villages and this by far is the best. Well maintained and the volunteers have done a fabulous job at keeping that place running. Unfortunately we went on a day the demonstrators weren't... More

Thanks for your review. What a shame you missed the demos. Being all volunteer it is not possible to do them every day(I wish we could). Come in on a Sunday, demos between 1pm and 3pm. More

This morning after a late breakfast we decided to check out the hervey bay historical museum and I'm so glad we did. After being greeted by two lovely volunteers on the door, one of them showing my son magic tricks, we were given a map and left to our own devices. The layout of not only the location but each... This is a much more extensive display than what you would think from the front view of the Museum. Everything is clean well documented and well laid out. The live demonstrations are well run and very informative, the display of the Maheno ship wreck was Tops and an amazing lot of the wreck and its history have been so well... More

First world problems are a symptom of a generation who haven't had so many difficult times and never had many "real" problems to solve. Take your kids here. Take yourself here. The museum has some thoughtful displays including the meat safe , a primitive precursor to the modern fridge using evaporation to keep things cool. My grandmother had one as... More

The Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum is tucked away in a quiet street in Pialba at Hervey Bay, Queensland. You could easily drive past it and miss it. It may have a small street frontage, but covers a big area. The village has an excellent array of early buildings including a blacksmith's forge area with demonstrations from time to... More

The staff members of the Hervey Bay. Historical Society did a great job organising the centenary of the great Urangan Pier today. Every one of them dressed well and recreated the history agaun. Lots of fun and free activities for young children. Such an eventful day.

The Museum was a delight to visit and although looks small from the front, is quite deceiving and has a wonderful variety of buildings with amazing memorabilia that allows one to step back in time. There is a picnic area where families can cook a sausage, sit and ponder what life was like in Hervey Bay in its early days.... More
