My boyfriend and I just returned from LaVentana and took 3 days of lessons from Jim and his instructors. Jim is a veteran in the sport, and certifies the instructors. A true ambassador of the sport! There is a difference between just showing someone how to kite and ride, which had been our experience in the past with other schools.... More

i am currently learning to kiteboard while down here in la vetana, baja mexico. before starting this endeavor i thought i would be a quick study due to my athletic ability and experience with both board sports (snowboarding & wakeboarding) and experience flying big trainer and foil kites on land and snow. well... i was in for a rude awakening.... A friend of mine had taken lessons from New Wind so I stopped by to rent a board from Jim Bison, the owner, on New Year's Eve. When he started with $39/day, I told him the going rate was closer to $25/day. He realized I was not the easy mark then, and agreed on $25/day but only if I rented... More
