The lake side offers stunning views of fabulous houses, lazy sailing boats as well as the German Alps in the distance. Early morning is the best time for discovery walks.

The Ammersee is part of a region of 5 lakes: Starnberger See, Ammersee, Wörthsee, Pilsensee, Weßlinger See. Each have their own character. Each have their own beauty. Try to get smoked fish "Renke" somewhere, they also offer other fish, but it's not from Ammersee Lake. In summer you should go on a boat tour. You come to the Ammersee with... More

My daughter had a business trip and we tagged along. We stayed in Herrsching and didn't have a car for 2 days so we explored the local area. As it was November, you could only walk so far as there are bird sanctuaries that close parts of the lake, including the ferries. We walked quite a ways on the lakefront... More

If you're not necessarily into swimming like me it's a nice place to even just walk around and relax. There is a bunch of places to eat at/have a coffee or ice cream. Also ferry available but I haven't been on board. Maybe next time :)

在地图上发现的地方,无意之选却美不胜收。在这里度过一个周末或者一个悠闲的下午,是再合适不过了。湖边,长椅,冰激凌车,还有很多有格调的餐厅可供选择。 If you have a weekend,Please come here, enjoy the lake and view.

We are staying In this town and visited here late afternoon. What a great place. We went on our bikes like lots of other people. The lake supports numerous activities Including swimming, sailing and boating. Although busy there was still a lot of free space. Great place for families. There are a few restaurants and bars along the shore and... More

There are so many things to do, for such a small village. Great places to eat, and it's so nice to take a stroll down the lake!

We enjoyed walking along the promenade. There were lots of varied places to eat and drink. We only spent a morning so we didn't try any of them. Boat trips on the lake (a northern trip and a southern trip) were on offer. One of these was on a paddle steamer. It is a lakeside town with a laid back... More
