The climb up numerous steps and on the Cobblestones is well worth it to observe the panorama. It is strenuous but our group of seniors all made it up the hill.

The town is picturesque and worth seeing. It is a steep walk to see this castle but worth the walk. The castle offers nice views of Miltenberg and the river. The castle museum has a modern art display by German artist. Its worth spending a little time in Miltenberg.

Rising above Miltenberg, this castle offers both ancient and modern. The inside structure dates from the Middle Ages, added onto progressively as a residence into modern times. The castle museum houses a surprisingly modern art display by German artists in extensive galleries. The climb through the garden and up to the top of the tower is well worth it for... More

The castle was good. I love the castles. Good walk up the hill and lots of steps. Beautiful views for pictures.

The town was typically Bavarian. The castle was set up high, with wonderful views of the medieval town and the Rhine. Gardens were beautiful and well maintained.

We hiked up to the castle but it wasn't open to the public that day. There was a group inside rehearsing for a theatrical event later that day. Despite that, the view from the entrance was very enjoyable and the walk, while a bit strenuous on the way up, was not difficult on the way down.

Nice view of the river in the background and a small German town experience. Not a real castle per se, but still nice.

Take a circular route up from the main square through the arch to the castle walls then walk through and down the road back to the town. The views are lovely of the medieval buildings with the Rhine in the background......see some of the photos in other reviews. Some nice local shops in the town as well, not all tourist... More

Mainly the view is the highlight of walking up here. Not really a hard walk, despite what some say. Unfortunately, we visited on a very rainy day, so the view of the Rhine and surroundings was limited. We did not bother paying to pay to go inside the Castle since it looked unimpressive from the outside. Go on a nice... More

This castle is authentic and a nice example of the grandeur of a bygone era. The castle has a restaurant that is worth visiting, and check for events before you go. The gardens were beautiful when I was there in March, mane I'm sure are even more so during the warmer months.
