Castle with a small museum.

The castle offers a lovely view of Tubingen. It's cold and rainy at the moment but on a warmer day, this place would be ideal to soak it all in.

This building will soon celebrate its 1000th birthday, which in itself makes it worth visiting. Inside is an archeological museum with some amazing artifacts.

A walk up the cobblestoned steep street to get to Hohentubingen is a must. The building, which now contains the University, is very different, and the city view from up there is quite impressive. The museum was shut on the day we visited, but the artworks we saw from the windows looked interesting.

The castle that houses part of the university also contains a museum that has neat sections about antiquity but the small animal sculptures in its prehistoric section beat the rest and is worthwhile the journey on its own. The castle also contains a small exhibition about the first isolation of DNA performed at the spot by Meischer around 1870.

I had a lovely walk up here in June and the weather was gorgeous. This is a great place for viewing the scenery surrounding tubingen. However, there is a lack of activities when you reach the top and also a lack of refreshment facilities. I would recommend taking snacks and drinks with you and staying for a while in one... More

The Castle isn't that big - but delivers a stunning view all over the Tübingen old Town. The ramparts of the Castle itself are worth a visit too naturally! Easiest Access is via the market Place and the Haaggasse. More over you can check out the Museum with great permanent and changing exhibitions (Museum der Universität Tübingen)

I think it is very good that you can just walk around the castle courtyard without having to pay anything! They also have a museum inside that you can pay to go in. While I found it difficult to find out how to walk up from the town centre to the castle it was worth it and gave nice views.

This castle now belongs to the university but it dates back to a fort in the eleventh century. Houses an ancient culture museum and a small exhibit honoring the German scientist who discovered DNA. Castle entrance is free but museum is a nominal fee. Clean bathrooms in the museum.

The place really surprised me. I did not have high expectations, but when I got there I found a fantastic place. It was not so crowded and there you have the possibilty to see wonderful landscapes.
