We had limited time for a visit, so we opted to taxi to Weihenstephan instead of bus/train. The plave has great beer and food available. Being a beer geek, this was a must stop for us on our way home from a great Amsterdam/Belgian vacation.

Weihenstephan got their license, to legally brew beer, back in the year 1040. You read it 1040! This makes the brewery the oldest in the world and they are still located at the same hill, with no attention to leave....ever. The brewery do tours but...More

Well worth the trip to have lunch at this place, wonderful German brewery, traditional food and excellent beer. Great views from the top of the hill.

A trip to the oldest operating brewery in the world is worth the visit; ~30-40 min east of the Munich Airport and not difficult to locate. They have a small store to purchase beer and other items. We had lunch in the restaurant; the ambiance...More

We discovered the “oldest brewery in the world” was the Weihenstephan in Freising and took the train out from central Munich ,about 40 mins. Freising itself is a delightful little town and the Saturday market was on while we were there. Plenty of shops and...More

We planned ahead and purchased tickets prior to arrival in Germany. This was a short drive from Munich and easy to do. The tour includes history about German's purity beer laws and very interesting! The beer was great! Tour guide great! Loved the tour!

Stopped at the brewery on a tour and thoroughly enjoyed both the site and the presentations. Great introduction to both Beer and Bavaria!

The tour was all in English - You should not have any difficulty at all! We did not spend a lot of time in the town as we were coming for just the tour from Munich.
