We did Not know what to Expect. We were overwhelmed By the creativity of Hans ruedi giger. Visit the Castle First, than Go to the bar and to the Museum. You will Probably also recognize similarities from medieval Art to the Alien Art....

Do not go there with non mature individuals. We knew that Giger was the creator of the Alien movie creatures, but I did not expect to see what I discovered. See for yourself, but between life&death, women, sex and achieving somekind of perfection by manipulating foetus, including the role of machines...I am no psychiatrist, but you will leave a little... Loved the detail, the arrangement of the art but this may not be for children. Even for adults it can be a bit disturbing. Otherwise, the village is adorable and the art at Giger is the best I've seen in science fiction museums anywhere!

This is included in your Swiss pass - if you have one - and as long as you don't have kids, not to be missed! Giger had a vivid imagination and a dark look at machine and flesh. This is a great collection of his paintings and sculptures with the top floor his collection of other artists works.

I am a big fan of all the Alien saga and since I was in the region couldn't help visiting this museum. First, not sure if museum is the right category. Second I expected to find out more about the life of the man behind the Alien monster and how he came to it, but it is really a dark... More

The museum is located inside the Gruyeres Castle, in the town center. The ticket is not so expensive, but it is a pity that you can't take pictures inside the museum.

The ticket is a bit expensive for the time you get to spend there and considering you cannot take pictures into the museum, but overall is an interesting experience. to be noted that is not for everybody, specially for the kids and underage. The museum is really explicit and contains pictures that can be considerate as being obscene. But go... More

If you are are a science fiction fan and an art enthusiast this is the museum you should visit. It is not appropriate for smaller children that can be easily scared.

I had visited HR Giger's museum already in 2008, but I came back this time with my boyfriend, who's also a huge fan of Giger's work. The museum is just great, filled with amazing works, drawings, paintings, sculptures! A must see if you're into art, any kind of art! Don't forget to visit Giger's grave at the cemetery right in...
