Don't miss the 20 minute video it is quite entertaining. I think I like the stories and the views most about this castle. It is at the top of a Medieval city and is part historical, part art gallery and part a painted time line of it's history as artists have lived in it and painted the walls. 16th century... More

It was out of the way. It was mixed with modern art in some areas that seemed to mismatch with the originality of the castle. But, it was open, not restrictive, and you could get closer to the exhibits and take pictures. I've been to better castles and I've been to worse. The view was awesome, of course we always... More

Wa able to visit Castle de Chillon and it puts this castle to shame, but it doesn't mean that this one isn't nice to visit. With this visit you get the pleasure of walking thru the shops and stopping for Fondue if you want. There is also an amazing bar there you have to visit. It was designed by the... More

My father, daughter and I visited this medieval castle. It was a tuesday morning so there were not many other visitors. The price was affordable for a 45 minute visit and 20 minute video projection. My young daughter really enjoyed the various rooms in the castle and father the historical value of the visit. I enjoyed the fact that we... More

Gruyeres a very beautiful and picturesque place with amazing views of the valleys and the mountains from all over around, You don't need too much time for the visit, however the variety of the rooms and the view all around from the castle was worthing a lot the visit. Check potential to combine pass tickets with other attractions in the... More

Having visited the near by Callier factory several times, I always wanted to visit Gruyere. This time I did. I was leading a school trip with 30 18 yr old pupils. We ALL were stunned by the beauty of this village!! So much so, I'm going to spend Xmas '17 here!! I didn't visit the cheese factory, but I will... More

Gruyeres is such a beautiful place in itself and the Castle really adds to it. You don't need too long to go round it but the diversity of rooms and the amazing views are well worth visiting for. We did it as part of the Fripass, which is well worth the money.

We spent a couple days in Gruyeres and were fortunate enough to be there during a festival. Folks were dressed in period costume and were performing tasks as they were done hundreds of years ago. The weekend was extra special because of this festival. The walled town is beautiful and has numerous restaurants and shops as well as the castle... More

Very nice castle, good setup. The town is very nice and good for a local cuisine meal. If you are near the region is worth visiting. Arriving by train is easy, though requires a 1.3 Km walk uphill. The landscape through the train ride is amazing.
