The dolmen is over 5000 years old & has the largest capstone in Europe. It is close to Carlow town, has a small off-road carpark & small, simple information boards.

Brought our two grandsons here on a day out. It's very impressive to look at the boys were having great discussions about how they built it without modern tools. Well worth a look.

We visited the dolmen in October, in perfect weather. Directions and signage were clear. There is a lovely path through some fields that one takes to get to the dolmen and the approach is humbling. There were no other visitors when we arrived, which made...More
