    Amazing Canopy Observation Platform tour!
We booked a Canopy Observation Platform tour to let our 2,5 year old son experience the rainforest. When we told the tourguide Andy that my wife was pregnant, he took a different route to make it as comfortable as possible for her. The original plan was to go with a group, but Andy brought the three of us for an adjusted tour. During the tour Andy shared alot of facts of the rainforest. The tour was really amazing. Andy, terima kash untuk tour yang istimewa. Sampai bertemu lagi kawan!

    Fabulous view
A small trek up the reserve and once at the top the view both sides is breath taking. Phone camera pics do not do it justice. The guide was very informative and knowledgeable. He knew exactly where to find the animal if they showed their little faces.

Excellent Service from Mr Wan at Concierge
We would like to share our gratitude for Mr Wan from the concierge. He was very helpful in assisting us with our urgent rental car booking. Even though we did not book the car in the end, Mr Wan went all out to help us nonetheless. His service standard is excellent and he did his best in assisting the guests. Thank you very much to Mr Wan.

Staff are highly knowledgable and enthusiastic, speaking very good English as well as Malaysian languages. Unfortunately not able to go on the canopy as it is closed currently. Did birdwatching around the golf course, which was great at dawn with a huge variety of species.
Any activities in the reserve are charged extra, you cannot enter without booking and engaging in their organised activity times. You are unlikely to see any mammals as they are nocturnal, but you may see various insects and some reptiles and birds.
There is an information 'education'centre that you can visit (for free) - great if you have children and it's raining.

The place is superb

Lovely staff, great rooms, excellent restaurants and beautiful pools

We stayed in the ocean wing which was worth the extra

Our stay slightly overlapped the start of the easter holidays so the pool was taken over by children and if I were to offer any advice to management it would be to restrict children to the lovely children’s pool as they get in the way of the lanes

Mobile check-in did not work, and my bed preferences weren't followed despite email confirmation on that. Food was bland across all the restaurants, and one of the seafood meals wasn't even fresh. Room was mostly nice but dated. Massive beach but really a long way from the city and the airport

I came to Rasa Ria without much expectation as I was just getting away from the usual routine to spend sometime away with my elderly parents and my 2 young boys. This turns out to be one of the best holiday we’ve ever had. We barely need to move out from the hotel as the swimming pool, the slides, the kids room and the BEACH is just all we need :)
The experience was made better by the ever helpful staffs within the hotel. TO be honest, i cannot name all the staffs and all of them were very good & very natural in their customer service. I could not find any staff that is below the par throughout the visit. Kudos to the Rasa Ria management team in getting such a wonderful team :)
We will be back for sure and this time we hope to be doing the adventure walks :)

Fabulous resort - staff are all very welcoming and always strive to please you.
Great selection of food each evening
The whole resort very clean apart from the beach does have rubbish but that is not their fault this is due to China seas - they do clean this every day however we enjoyed doing it as it got in our extra steps.
Canopy walk is great for the family - a little hike which is not suitable for disabled persons or people scared of heights - guide was lovely
I’m terribly with but the general manager is superb nothing it to much trouble
Stay here and you will not be disappointed

We were here for a family holiday and loved it! We stayed at the Ocean Wing in a family junior suite 1813. The room was pleasant and bathroom was nice. Had a huge 3-person bath tub on the patio which opened out to the larger shared pool.

The breakfast was at Oceano which was more peaceful and pleasant with small buffet and unlimited a la Carte meal. This is the place to get a good coffee. We did have a look at the buffet breakfast at the Garden Wing and although it had more variety, it was much busier and noisier. Although if you love a wider variety and don’t mind the crowd, then Garden Wing breakfast has a good spread including ice cream for kids with plenty of sprinkles.

We enjoyed the jet ski, hired a golf cart to look at the golf course, did the pool yoga and our younger one also enjoyed the kids club. The spa at the golf clubhouse was good with the most amazing massage therapist called Vaina who had magic hands! She was brilliant!

The kids loved the pool slide and it was handy having an ice cream shop next to it. The pool at Ocean Wing is quieter but the kids really preferred the slides at Garden Wing. The pool temperature is beautifully warm - perfect! We didn’t use the gym but checked it out and it look reasonably good.

The service at good throughout the resort. Although one of the evenings, we felt that the Sanpam bar was rather slow with service and our dinner didn’t come out until maybe 45min later. The wait staff was most apologetic and offered free drinks whilst waiting for the meal to come out. We appreciated their kind gestures and knew it wasn’t their fault.

In terms of food, we loved the beef burger (standard menu) and also rated the seafood platter at Oceano highly. There’s a kids menu there too which was super handy.

I think this is a great resort and would happily come again. The sunset was amazing. Although I’d strongly recommend insect repellent for mosquitoes and sandflies. In general, we felt the western food was surprisingly better than the local food. (The best Sambal chilli for Nasi Lemak tho).

This is indeed a great hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Tips: 45-60min between hotel and airport/shopping malls. Please avoid peak hour traffic if you can. It took us 1 hr 20min to get from mall to hotel because we were caught in peak hour.

The welcome, in general, by Sabahans have always been warm, but the reception from the moment of us stepping out of the GrabCar, was heartfelt and consistent!! The check in staff was clear and friendly. The room prepared for us, had views to die for. On one side, the South China sea unfolded its waves and glory without reserve, and on the other side, the thick forest welcomed us with the dances of pied hornbills bee catchers and the song off bulbuls at the break of dawn.

The staff at Rasa Ria, have always been warm and helpful. Notably restaurant staff Isaac and Celvera made us feel like we were in their own kitchen and dining room. Activity staff such as Steeley, brought us through cycle paths through the Bajau eco village, while others like Thim, Andy and Casey (? ) helped us track safely at 5am through jungle tracks to view the sun peeping over Mount Kinabalu. Steeley And Thim showed great care for safety but knowledge to share, and experience to impact despite their much younger age than most of us,.

Small gestures of all staff, from the greeting with hand on heart, to the changing of plant centrepiece to even the goodbye quartet … all added up to an exceptional hotel stay never experienced before. … the goodbye song, with a call to return home, nearly left us in tears…
