I have visited this sitte several times. Not because I am particularly excited my tyombs or Korean history, but my it's charm and the way it seamlessly blends into the surrounding countryside. It's very well kept but without the madding crowds that plague a lot of other historic sites in Korea. A real breath of fresh air in the Land... More

There is quite a history behind the royal tombs - aka Seolleung. The park and the walk themselves were nice, but the tombs themselves were somewhat underwhelming. The tombs are blocked off from tourists so you have to have a look from quite a bit away. The grounds are fenced in and there is only one entrance to the southwest... More

If you are looking for a green place in Seoul then this is it. I love the lush green surroundings and walking up and down some hills. It is such a relaxing walk and because of the trees it is quite cool. I feel very close to nature; it is seems like I am not in the city except when... More

I didn't expect anything from this place, just a few old tombs but it's actually an amazing park. The park itself is quite big, it will take you around 1h to go around it. And while you walk, you'll get to see the tombs of the old kings. It's kind of the korean equivalent of the Pyramids. The air there... More

The 3 royal tombs are in a lovely park accessible by bus and subway. They are from the 15th and 16th century and as the dynasty had taken up Confucianism which entails respect and worship of ancestors, the tombs have been well cared for. Before you start, go into the History Centre beside the entrance and watch the video on... More

The Seooreung Cluster is another enjoyable trip to make for those who are interested in Korean history. With numerous tombs from the 15th - 17th centuries you can leisurely stroll the grounds while learning about the early kings and queens of the Joseon dynasty. The Joseon tombs overall are remarkably well preserved, in large part because of their design. Unlike,... More

There are 18 different tomb cluster locations. Most are located in and around Seoul. I've had the great pleasure of visiting about 10 of these tomb clusters. The design is similar, but there are also some subtle variations. King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty, and his 5th son King Taejong perhaps have the most exceptional early tombs of... The royal tombs are located inside a lovely park with walking paths which not only lead to the three tombs and surrounding outbuildings but also through the middle of the park which has many trees and small birds and animals. While you couldn't go right up to the actual tombs (the area around them is fenced off) when I was... More

Although the statues and the outlook of the tomb were nice, we can't go in. We went to one of the tomb places in Seoul, which is a park with three tombs on the south-east bit called Seolleung. Only one of them was opened. And it was twice a day ONLY!! 10:30a.m. and 2:30 p.m. One of the other ones,... More
