Quaint village
Oct 2019
This is a quaint village, which retains its 16th-century architecture, including roads poorly paved with cobblestones. However, the Maserati parked in front of one of the houses, indicates that the village has departed from its mostly agricultural past and now caters to tourists. it is quite lovely nonetheless.

Old Stone Village With Cobblestone roads
Jul 2019 • Friends
Easy but cobblestone road hike to taste the famous Maragato dish. Beautiful old stone buildings adorned with trailing rose bushes. White filet crocheted window curtains. The restaurant walls have memorabilia from times past.

Cute
Apr 2019 • Couples
It's a very small village, with really well kept old houses. If you're nearby, it's worth a quick walk around. If you're hungry, you should book a table in one of the restaurants available and have the famous Cocido Maragato. There's not much more to do, anyway.

Doing Camino de Santiago
May 2018 • Friends
If you do Camino De Santiago, especially the French course, I recommend you to get out of the course just a little bit to visit this place. It’s worth to do. You may need a couple of hours in addition to your original plan but you won’t regret.

Came here by chance, we'd definitely go back if we ever come near again.
Small quaint town, built with red rocks. Really lovely.

Rather Twee
Sep 2016 • Solo
This is a nice renovated twee village for pilgrims mainly on their walk. Coming by car you will have to park in the designated place. My only criticism is that I couldn't find a public toilet. There was a number of bars/restaurants you could use I suppose but cannot confirm this.

Undoubtedly historically important and beautiful, yet it lacks my 100% vote

Yes, you must visit and make your own opinion. For me it was very disappointing that the church was locked so you could not go inside. I appreciate people live here, but it would be better to be able to see beyond the large green doors and understand better how people live. The land around the village is unkempt and several dry stone walls are in poor repair. All of these things just take the edge off the experience. Maybe I am being too critical ? You do expect Clint Eastwood to come riding out of the sunshine, it really is that quaint and quirky, so for all my criticism visit. You can walk around the whole village in 45 minutes.

Marvelous little stone town
Nov 2015 • Couples
Very small town, build everything with stone. No cars allowed.
You need to park outside of the town and walk through it. There are several restaurants that serve the famous Cocido Maragato. But pay attention: if you eat ALL the food you will have to sleep a ver long siesta!!!!!

Pretty place, not much to do
May 2015 • Couples
We stopped here because of the reviews and to have lunch. Little did we know that the restaurants are closed on Mondays. Pretty but we didn't see another soul in the place.
