We went here as part of a group, some French, some Dutch and some English. it may be that our tour at 4.20 was close to the guides home time but her manner was quite rude, there was little humour and the tour was rushed...More

Haven't been to Lascaux IV so can't compare, but Lascaux II is amazing. We had a well-informed guide with very good, charmingly accented English. She took us up the forested hill to see the entrance to the original cave, then did a fine job of...More

We took a guided tour of the "replica" cave . The real cave has been closed to the public for many years - since the 1970,s. Our guide for the English speaking tour was Anthony- he did an excellent job, presenting a coherent and staged...More

Enjoyed this reproduction of the caves. Super well done and we had the funniest guide. Made it so interesting. The whole area was a joy to visit. Prior to the visit I was unaware of these caves so I learnt something. Always good

As a tourist, you can now visit the super modern Lascaux IV or go up the hill to Lascaux II (and see the door to Lascaux I--the real deal). Lascaux IV has a cafe, gift shop, videos and all of the glitz of a new...More

I would recommend to anyone visiting France to visit the caves at Lascaux. The original caves have been completely replicated in the visitor center in order to preserve the drawings, but it feels as though you are actually in the caves themselves. It's extremely well...More

I actually felt myself choking back tears at one point during this extraordinary museum exhibition. Everything about this place is stunning: from the architecture of the space to the guided tour to the interactive exhibits and films. I was bowled over by how much information...More

Lascaux II is a must visit for those interested in the story of the pre-historic past. It is a recreation of the actual cave(s) that have been closed to the public to prevent further deterioration of the paintings. The result is that it is worthy...More

Very good guided tour giving a lot of information about the art and the thinking on the interpretation of the paintings. The interpretive centre with very efficient personal tablet computers was fascinating for both adults and children. Even in April the centre was very busy...More

I have been trying to book Prehistoric Pass Combination ticket for 2 adults (Lascaux Center, Le Thot, and Laugerie Basse); and 2 tickets for Lascaux II. I called Lascaux Center and was told to try again. I switched browsers as well and the same result. I tried 5X already. Each time, Semitour has taken my money. My bank has confirmed that they have approved each time. So now I paid 5X, but yet, no e-tickets. I keep getting an error message after it says that my transaction has gone through successfully. I called my bank, and my bank said that Semitour has to tell them that I should be charged 1X only and not 5X. I emailed Semitour 2X and have not got an answer. I called Lascaux Center, they said that they have no record of my purchase. I asked if they could help me with online booking but they said that they can't--but asked me to try again. I have tried 5X, been charged each time, so a total of (78+ X 5), and no e-tickets. What should I do? Thank you so very much! Helen

Hi Helen, me again...so sorry this happened to you. I suggest documenting your multiple payments, including charges to your accounts, and taking it to the Center, and ask for a supervisor to resolve it on site. I could not... More
We are visiting from 23 May. We are 2 adults. 1) I am wondering if I should get tickets for bot Lascaux II and International Cave Center? We speak English. But I am thinking that, if the Lascaux II is in French, we will at least see if not understand. 2) How early should we be there for 11:06 or 1530 tour? 3) We would also like to visit Grand Roc and Laugerie Basse. Is it possible to do all four on same day? Thank you for your help! Helen

I would like to visit the "main" cave and am now confused by whether it is Lascaux 1 or 2 or 3 or 4. I can't work out from the online booking which ticket to choose and I also can't find an English tour. I am not that interested in the museum I just want to visit the replica of the original Lascaux cave. I will have kids and grandparents with me so can't afford to spend too many hours trawling visitor centers and museums! Can anyone help?

There is two options : - Lascaux Centre International (Lascaux IV) : 2h30 tour in different language. - Lascaux II : 1h tour only in french. Lascaux (the original cave) is closed.
