Went there with friends. Still an awesome site. Especially the part with the grenade is a 'blast'. Will return in the near future. Defintely.

This site consists of 4 German pillboxes and the accompanying bunker system. A great part of the original tunnels has been excavated and can be visited. The entrance fee includes an audio tour, that gives great information and insight on the structures and what it must have been like to be garrisoned here. History really comes to life in a... More

Located at 7kms in the North East from Sainte-Mère-Eglise, this battery built in 1941, is one of the first buildings of the Atlantic Wall in France. Tunnels are made between bunkers and turned up into the maze. Guides give us a good idea of what was the daily life of the soldiers and Major Treiber at the time.

The site beings the life of the german bunker system to life. The tour guide is very informative of the history of the site, and leeds you to think you are there at the time of the conflict. Ther is plenty of parking toilets and a gift shop. The staff are very friendly. The site is well preserved.

A truly fascinating insight into the Atlantic Wall and the Nazi defence of Europe. An amazing structure and a tale of heroism and humanity from a German perspective

Visited with friends. The visitor centre/reception is in one of the case mates with a small gift shop and excellent toilets. The car parking is ample, with a picnic area, we had our lunch there. You are given a phone type device that you listen to as you reach different parts of the battery. The audio is brilliant and informative.... More

Definitely worth 5 euros . Out of the way probably missed by most tours. Interesting to see how quick it was constructed.

This was our first visit to la batterie de azeville. It gives you a great expression how the Germans in this bunkers lived. The entrance costs €5.- . You get a ' telephone ' in your own language and this tells you the story what took place in la batterie. It was very impressive and the best spend 5 euro's... More

A must visit to get a better understanding of how the Germans fortified the coast and built these batteries. You walk around on your own with some signs posted telling you more information. You can even walk down inside the batteries. Very eary and solemn.
