My daughter rolled her own cigar after watching this process

Cubans rolling cigars is a must in Cuba. The process is interesting and makes you understand the pride in the Cuban cigar.

In the factory, you can see the manual way of producing the famous Cuban cigars. It does not make a special impression :) Of course, you can purchase cigars at official prices, which is very expensive!

Definitely worth the 5CUC to understand and appreciate how to roll a cigar and all the process end to end even if it is quite weird walking around them and starring. Special mention to the quality men who answered all our questions!

It is really something to watch the skill involved in hand rolling cigars. The rolling is done in a large room by mostly women at individual work desks. It's a bit Dickensian with rows of desks in a hot room and the rollers working to meet their 120 per day quota but there's a fair bit of banter flying around... More

These did seem a bit set up as the story was that no photos were allowed because a worker had brought their child into work and someone had taken a picture of them making cigars. Thus giving the rumour of child labaour being used. Factory seemed to have a happy atmosphere and the different skill levels were explained to us... More

It's impossible to institutionalize the tobacco industry: it's a tradition that gets transferred down generations after generations, it requires care, love, dedication... a Cigar factory summarizes this process when tobacco leaves are rolled into cigars. Fabrica Donatien will give a deep insight of how this endearing delivery gets finalized.

Really interesting to visit and see the process of how cigars are made. Make sure you ask a lot of questions as you get more out of it.

If you're looking to buy good cigars at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go! On the other hand if you want to get a good or interesting explanation about the making of cigars, you're barking up the wrong tree. It costs 5 CUC to get an explanation, not longer than 2 minutes, where afterwards you can... More

It is amazing to see how the Cuban cigars are made. So much effort had gone in to making them if you are coming to Cuba I recommend coming.

We visited here, didn't get a tour (don't know if we missed out on that?!) but it was still interesting to see. You can't take bags in so be warned!
