Winton lands predate the Magna Carta; and the Setons built the House before Leonardo da Vinci established his reputation. Their architect, the King's Master Mason, didn't work on ordinary castles! His carved, twisted chimneys still herald the palace within and his ornate plaster ceilings are the most elaborate in Scotland.

A Castle for Hire with a Warm Welcome

Winton House remains a private house, but one which is available for hire for a wide variety of functions. It has architectural grandeur and history, but is not aloof or austere; you are welcomed warmly as a guest into a home (mine!).

Corporate Events with a Twist

Winton House can be exclusively yours for memorable corporate events, gala dinners, incentive events, private parties and special celebrations. The House's interconnecting reception rooms are ideally laid out for conferences and meetings.

A Wedding Venue with Real Romance

For a truly Scottish wedding, Winton is one of the most romantic wedding venues in the country and will make your big day a memorable one. Look no further if you're considering country house or castle wedding venues!

If you're looking to develop your management team's performance and collaborative skills then we can offer a range of interesting and innovative events, including: 4x4 driving; Archery; Clay Pigeon Shooting; Falconry; Golf (East Lothian has some of the finest courses in Scotland); The Winton Highland Games; Hovercraft driving; Whisky tasting; and Wine and Champagne tasting.

We had this property for a stag do with some board gaming and movies, this property was perfect. There were 14 of us and there was plenty of space. These numbers had a few people on camp beds but they were comfortable. There were 4 bathrooms with showers, a good heating system and a fireplace that was enjoyable to sit... More

We had our wedding weekend at Winton staying in the house, the cottage and the farmhouse. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the most incredibly friendly staff and this continued throughout the weekend. No request was too much and they truly made it a day that we will remember forever. The house, the contents and the gardens are... More

Paul at Winton arranged a clay pigeon shooting morning, for a group of 30 teenagers and adults, all beginners, boys and girls. We had an amazing time, and the four instructors, with their mix of experience, skill and dry humour, gave everyone the confidence to give it a try, and made it a hugely enjoyable and memorable experience.

It was our pleasure to host your group at Winton Estate and I am pleased to read your comments about Clay Pigeon Shooting on our estate. We would love to host your group again in the future either doing a Clay Shoot or any other of our outdoor activities (Archery, 4X4 Driving, Segways, Falconry, Laser Tag...). We hope you enjoyed... I was speaking at a conference here and my what a treat! The building is sublime, the artwork alone is breathtaking and the grounds are astonishing. It was a nice spring day and all I could think of was that this would be the ideal wedding venue. Simply perfect. Great venue for events; weddings, conferences or smaller functions. Catering was... We booked for the morning of my sons wedding, a mixed group in age and ability ranging from a serving soldier to a 2 year old!. The staff were brilliant, the location stunning and a great time was had by everyone. What a great way for us to spend a couple of hours relaxing doing something very different!

Was at Winton House for a Wedding Reception. Service from entering the car park to the finish was perfect. For James and his team, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Food was excellent, and attention to detail could not have been bettered. It is certainly a place I would recommend, even just for a quick visit.

I have just come back from holding a commercial event at Winton House for 15 of our Scottish re-sellers. The event took place over 2 days. The location is unbelievable. Wonderful countryside and beautiful grounds all perfectly (and no doubt tirelessly) maintained by the team at Winton House. The welcome and assistance we received from James (General Manager) and his... More
