A great tribute to those who lost their lives for me and my generation. My visit was a part of mission I had been planning over 3 years. This was one location on our tour. Thank you for your sacrifice.

This small museum commemorates the unsuccessful raid by Canadian troops in August, 1942. Its most interesting feature is the video loop made up of interviews with survivors coupled with scenes for German records. The tragedy and futility of war could not be shown more effectively..

Nice to see that our debt to the Canadians is acknowledged and the memorial so well kept. Easy to find as it's just off the beach and below the castle.

Take the time to read the plaques on this memorial - there are some surprising ones. The memorial is in a wonderful location in the center of town.
