I took my granddaughter aged 7 here for an afternoon. She loved it as much as I did. She particularly loved being able to dress up in "older time" clothes, as she put it. The museum is full of local history. I particularly loved the section on the World Wars and the lists of local people from the area who... More

It's more about a bakery was here than a Newry museum. But it's interesting. Plenty of parking. Worth a visit if in the area. A few rooms with political posters etc from BOTH sides of Northern Ireland.

This small museum has a fascinating collection of items relating to local history. The exterior structure of elegant modern design surrounds the historic core of Bagenal's Castle. It is really worth the detour to see the ancient Banquet room that is regularly used for seminars and courses. The exhibits are clearly labelled in both English and Irish. The ground floor has... very pleasant day out, I took my elderly father here for a day trip. he enjoyed it, although it wasn't very accessible and he got quite tired. great if you arew in the area and its raining, perhaps i wouldn't travel very far to see the museum otherwise.

This is a very interesting building which from the outside does not do it justice. Take a trip inside to see remmants of past days gone by, so much to see in the museum, worth a visit.

On a high hill overlooking the Clanrye River and downtown Newry, Northern Ireland sits a nice old building that used to be McCann's Bakery (Victoria Bakery before that) for decades. I have friends who's deceased father worked there all his life. It was during his time there that a major discovery was made. The back part of the bakery and... More

This is a must see on anybody's bucket list. Totally amazing history jaw dropping in fact. Bagnal and O'Neill history aplenty.. Dungeons uncovered huge bequest rooms totally amazing

Visited the museum recently and it was very interesting. They have a good selection of exhibits showing the history of Newry and the local area. Good parking and a cafe. It is a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Let me just say, I love museums and history, my kids are at the age where they aren't young enough to do the colouring or dress up, but not old enough to appreciate history like I do. Saying that, we spent an enjoyable 2 hours in the museum, which is not overly large, but has a lot to see. It's... More
