The view from this temple are simply amazing. The beach it overlooks is rugged, goes on for ever and on a sunny day, turquoise blue. Can see as far as Royal Portrush links golf course on a clear day. The gardens at this National Trust...More

The gardens were lovely and it was a good walk from the visitor office to get to the temple. We chose the steep steps route (and it was steep) and were rewarded with the most amazing views of the temple, also the beautiful ocean.. The...More

Really great National Trust property. Only £5 entry. Allow 2 hours at least. Follow the map so you get everything. Good walking shoes as wet under foot. Views spectacular! Toilet facilities in two spots. Recommended

A few words of caution/thoughts: 1) there is not a lot of information provided... google it beforehand/afterwards OR maybe you'll get lucky like us and a local will give you a more detailed rundown. The National Trust could step up there game here as Bishop...More

This is well worth a visit especially if your a national trust member. Make sure you park in the nearest car park so that you can go to the right temple

Incredible view of the sea and surrounding beaches - on a clear day you can see to Scotland. The temple itself is stunning. It's quite small, but has amazing acoustics. There are also some other ruins near the temple, and loads of sheep. If you...More

Go here is you want to pay for a good view of the Irish Sea, but there are many free places that have even better views. This hodgepodge of attraction starts with a trek to a "dove house". Formal gardens once graced the path. Now...More

If you are visiting the North Coast then a stop here is well worth the effort. The route from the Lions gate car park is pram friendly as it is a gravelled track, but make sure you bring a coat - even on sunny days,...More

On May 19th the National Trust staff forgot to open the temple building at 10am which is when it was advertised to be open. When I enquired at 10.30 they said the 'ranger had forgotten this morning' So don't plan to go in to the...More

Some nice, if short, walks in and around Mussenden with ruins, a small lake, woods and gardens to explore. Good for photos. Definitely worth a stop if you're touring the North Coast.

Hey DE. Where did you go for the reception after the wedding? We're considering Mussenden Temple, but need to find a place for a dinner/dance.

Depends whether you want to go towards Coleraine or Londonderry. COleraine I would recommend The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine or slightly further to Royal Court at Whiterocks,Portrush. Going towards Derry I would recommend... More

My question is in regard to the car park. Is it free to park? If not how much is the cost? Also, how far of a walk is it from the car park to the temple?

Hi, hope I'm not too late with the answer. Parking is free and from what I gather you can pretty much enter the site at any time. The visitor's center may just be closed. It's a bit of a trek to get to the temple... More

Hi can anyone help me with getting here by train or bus instead of driving? We will be coming from Belfast, I have never been so i am unsure of the way. I would like to see the temple, downhill demesne and perhaps the beach area as the weather is good.
