We visited Matlock and Hall Leys Park was on our list. It has plenty of benches and a great place to stop for a break. The gardens are just starting to get some colour in the flower beds. Plenty of play areas for the children and a lovely walk along the side of the river too.

Looks as if there is also a miniature railway for... More

This is a small but pleasant park in the middle of Matlock. There is a good play area with swings, climbing frames and a paddling place as well as a large duck pond with boats! There is a small train and a great café with excellent food. For older children there is a putting green and a skate board park... More

Matlock is the administrative centre for the county of Derbyshire, and Hall Leys Park lies peacefully at its centre. It is a friendly, open space embraced by the greenery of nearby hills, and is popular with both locals and visitors. The park comprises tennis courts, a skateboard/roller-blade facility, a bowling green, a bandstand, a children’s playground with a water/splash area,... More
