We visited here with our children (5 and 7) last summer. The grounds are beautiful. We paid extra for a guided tour of the castle and I was glad we did. Our tour guide (Linda?) was very funny and entertaining. She had lots of stories to keep the children entertained. Afterwards, we had lunch in Avoca. It is an expensive... More

I have been here in summer with a sunny day and the visit has been amazing. Really beautiful castle and also the park around incredible. I suggest to go. Don't know about the weather, I have been there with a sunny day but I think also in other conditions can be a great visit and you can take great pictures... More

To visit the castle you have to take the train from Onnolly Station and get off at Malahide. The castle outside is very nice, inside also but it scares. There would apparently be ghosts. If you believe it to be on your guard. But it is a very beautiful castle in itself and the guide is very nice

I visited Malahide castle on a sunny day. I took the train from Dublin to Malahide (takes about 35 minutes) from the train station you can walk to the little town and have lunch or a pint at one of the pubs. The castle is walking distance from the train station as well. The grounds are so beautifully landscaped and... More

On a bright sunny day a great place to visit. Arrived on the train, and waited for Toots the road train. A tour of the village on Toots was the beginning of a lovely day. A family outing with our grandson was completed with a super visit to the Castle Gardens with one of the best play grounds for all... More

We visited Malahide Castle and did the guided tour. The grounds are spectacular and the locals often walk, jog and picnic here. The castle itself is incredible, filled with such rich history. The stories of the families, the furnishings and even the ghosts will entertain and amaze you. Our guide was tremendous, and she was wonderfully descriptive. Each room is... More

Certain places positively reek of history and this place is a prime example. Set in a beautiful park and with plenty of car parking, it is an oasis of peace in such a busy city. Within some 20 minutes of the city centre, it really seems a million miles away. Go there and just stroll around. Go to the main... More

This is a lovely place with something for all ages. It's had a great playground and picnic area, lively walks and a tea room with a shop worth a visit if you've a few free hours

Aide, Malahide, pronounced Mullach Ide from the gaelic word high point Mullach and Taaide, tide – high point tide. Step inside and discover the foundations of an ancient stronghold and the family who lived here, a fortified keep, a fashionable family, home and a witness to history. One of the most visited places just outside of main center in Dublin.... More
