Castle is small but beautiful. While we were there they had organised a fairy trail round the gardens which was great for getting the kids out and about. Also the buttefly house a must see.

What a lovely place to visit for a stroll in the countryside yet within minutes of central Malahode. So peaceful, and beautifully kept grounds, well worth a visit.

The castle tour was OK, we learned all about the Talbot family living there for 800 years until recently. Parts of the castle are really in poor repair and in the process of being refurbished. The tour was ok at best despite the very enthusiastic...More

If you are looking for a day out of Dublin this is perfect. Bus 42 brings you directly to the garden. After a short walk you reach the lovely castle.

Yes you can! You can pay to get in, but you don't have to be tethered to a guide. Plus you get to explore the grounds behind the castle which is only accessible via paying as well.
