This is a tough review to write. For context, I've played many of the best golf courses on the planet (Cypress Point, Pebble, Oakmont, PV, National, Merion, and all the major US Links courses - Bandon, Whistling, Streamsong, Chambers, etc.) If you could promise me...More

Arguably the finest golf course I have played over last 30 years and I have played around the world. Has the coast line, cliffs and sheer grandeur of Pebble Beach but more beautifully manicured. More hills and elevation changes than Pebble and of course the...More

All golfers should play this course at least once in their lives. If you are playing this course every day, you have died and are in golfing heaven. Every hole is stunning with vistas of the Atlantic way down below. This course has me planning...More

This course is absolutely stunning. The views are breathtaking and the course is in immaculate shape. While not a traditional links course, Old Head is a must play if you are in Kinsale and definitely worth the trip if you are not. The restaurant at...More

This was the third course of seven that we played. This course had the most spectacular views of any course I have played. Winds were 25-30 mph which made it difficult. Didn't score very well but the view made up for it. This course is...More

Amazing golf course, spectacular views, challenging holes especially with 30 to 40 mile an hour winds. Expensive but overall well worth the experience. Delightful with a caddy.

This course is unique, spectacular, difficult and clearly one of the best in all of golf. You will not play a course, ever, that is similar. Since it juts out on a peninsula in Southern Ireland the weather is extremely changeable. The locals say only...More

Flew into Shannon and drove south for 2.5 hours and played a round straight off the plane. 16 of 18 holes with fantastic cliff and water views. White glove treatment from staff and caddies. The Irish people are fun, witty and charming. Although we were...More

Most courses as scenic as Old Head will accommodate a request to just ride a buggy along with a golfer. I've seen fees range from €20 - €50.

It has 15 rooms of a Hyatt quality. It is not a family place but rather a golfer's paradise. Kinsale, which is an awesome fishing village has a number of B and B's and hotels of various quality. Cork is about 35-40 minutes... More

No, not really. It's typical terrain for Ireland and the elevation change between some greens to the next tee can be significant.
