Stunning views. A decent walk but one that was managed by a 7 year old. Parking a little restricted but understandable considering the location Good amenities, toilets maintained, cafe on site.

The light in this part of the world is unique. Taking photos does not do it justice. It has to be seen to be believed.

Not the largest peninsular in the south west of Ireland, but one of the best for walking. Technically i guess these are hills but they present much of the interest and challenge of mountains. One needs full gear here, especially good walking boots, lots of bog holes not alway apparent until you are knee deep!! Weather can also change really... More

We descended down to Kilcrohane and headed out to Sheeps Head taking in the Ballyroon... More

Sheep's Head is very remote, and may not be for the timid driver. It is a single track road for most of the way, with steep inclines on the side of the road, BUT worth the drive. The landscapes are rugged with interesting slate like rock formations and cliffs. A sunset would be amazing, but the hike back and drive... More

Our Walking Group, The Silverbacks, recently hiked The Poet's Way on Sheep's Head. This 4 hour hike has to be one of the great hiking trails in all of Ireland. The terrain is rugged and the scenery is spectacular. Underfoot conditions were fine on the day we were there after dry spell but it could be very soft after prolonged... More

Lovely walk with fabulous views , takes approx 2 hours . Can come back the same way with children or an alternative route , not suitable for children . Long drive from main road out but worth it .

A must to walk, visit, remote, beautiful. Skip the tourist traps and enjoy the isolation. Walkers paradise
