We enjoyed the Bamboo Park, very relaxing, beautiful viewpoints. Being a Sunday and high season we assumed the coffee shop on site would be open, but disappointingly it was closed. As we were leaving and passing the ticket booth we were accosted by a woman, who worked there asking us how much we had paid. We told her the exact coinage and noted we dropped into the 'Honesty Box'. Her tone was very accusatory and her face expressed disbelief so much so that one of us asked had money been removed from the box. She began discussing coinage that had been dropped into the box, we were so annoyed and disgusted with her attitude we walked away, she retreated to the office, not a 'thank you' from her. We were going to bring other family member to the park next, we will not visit after this disrespectful encounter. She needs to work on her customer service skills.

Very disappointing visit.
Essentially an experimental garden growing different types of bamboo. Well, I would say it is a success as far as that is concerned, but as for making it a garden open to the public, there is a long way to go.
7 Euro is way too much for the entrance, which was at an honesty box, wish I hadnt been so honest, 3 may have been acceptable and that would be just to walk through to get to the view point.
We had the place to ourselves. Perhaps not surprisingly.
Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

We had a lovely afternoon at Glengarriff Bamboo Park, lots of exploring through all the pathways and taking a seat to take in the view of the beautiful islands surrounding the park. The children really enjoyed studying the different plants and were treated to a cool drink at the end! Thank you!

A disappointing waste of money. Not maintained wild and over grown woodland/ bamboo trees. Definitely over priced and looked like it’s in people’s driveways. Please give this place a miss. Save your money and just head to Garnish Island. There was one positive. There was a look out point that looked out across the bay so we just sat there in the sunshine and admired the view.

Over priced - €7 for a walk in the west cork area which can be done for free.
Don’t accept card.
Leaflet says 30 types of bamboo however very few bits have sign posts and what does ha e sign posts is very unclear and limited in information. Gardens have very few flowers and gardens not laid out nicely like in Bantry house, I am unsure what if any gardening would be occuring.
Would pay €2 for this but no more.

In love! Whether you are looking for a family day out or a romantic walk or a solo discovery it’s a place of wonder.
Particularly if you find tropical species fascinating. Claudine did not mind my many questions.

There are many varieties of bamboo suitable for the West Ireland climate but the park is very limited. The walks are relaxing and have many pleasant views and suitable for all ages. I know it’s a bamboo park but there are many palms. I love palms but unfortunately the state of them is very sad. Shredded, crispy and near death they stand looking well beyond saving, they would really be better removed.

This is a beautiful place with fantastic views of the sea and beautiful signed on each plant saying what they are most informative. The map was excellent and the pats beautiful layer out for a lovely enjoyable stroll no time limits on us. Lovely café and the staff and management were most helpful and had great information on the wildlife and historical information and the plants. This is the no 1 attraction in Glengariff. It is one of the nicest places in Cork
