It's Ireland, so it's likely to have rained in the near past or will rain in the near future. It's a pretty muddy/farmy trek out to the abbey through a field, so I'd recommend bringing suitable shoes.

This is free to visit and a beautiful ruin so definitely worth stopping at if you're in the area. Just mind your step on the path!

Horse Abbey was a short drive from Cashel and absolutely steeped in history. The ruins of this Abby are very interesting. We also enjoyed the scenery along the drive.

Views of the wonderful place can be seen from the Rock of Cashel and it begs you to walk the trail to this beautiful place.
