I was here recently for an evening event. The staff were quite rude about ordering everyone into the auditorium and as soon as the event was finished we were practically shoved out of the place. When you buy tickets online, they add €1.50 for the venue to the cart automatically, which is a bit cheeky considering how we were treated.... More

The Mermaid Arts Centre runs a wide ranging programme of films, theatre, music and arts events throughout the year, many of which are aimed at young people. Films are shown on Monday evening. Upstairs the gallery hosts visual arts by visiting artists. There is free underground parking for those attending events. The Betelnut cafe in the centre is very popular.

Attended the recent Hohor Heffernan gig where, together with her band, performed in music the works of Dorothy Parker. A really interesting show - took a wile to get into it, however, it was well worth hanging on!! Honor was immense. Well done. The Mermaid is an amazing venue with very friendly staff.

Great little local theatre and a great amenity for Bray. I keep an eye on the programme of forthcoming events and go whenever I can. The seats in the theatre are a little close together so sitting for any length of time can be painful if, like me, you are tall (hence 4 Stars). What is really interesting is the... More

We stayed in Bray for a few nights, whilst walking the High Street we spotted the Mermaid Arts Centre. The 2 ladies behind the counter were so helpful and friendly chatting about Bray and what's on at the Mermaid. Tom Murphy's The House was playing the following evening, we booked, and with the guidance and help of staff we were... More
