Glenveagh Castle has so much to offer-history, amazing scenery, beautiful gardens, brilliant walks either stroll through the fantastic gardens or take the long walk from Visitor's Centre to Castle and of course the lovely Tea Room. Glenveagh is a beautiful place even on a rainy day. It really is worthwhile following the foot paths up through the trees to sit... More

Set in beautiful natural scenary, Glenveigh Castle is an oasis of peace. The walk to the castle, whilst delightful, is quite long at around 5 km but it is well worth it. If you're not up to walking there is a shuttle bus available for 1.50 each way

This castle is well worth a visit. Situated right in the middle of County Donegal, 'the coolest place on the planet'. If you are into walking, cycling, gardening, history or just a nice day out with the family, this is the place to be. I love the coffee/tea shop at the castle. The coffee and pastries are a treat.

If you start from up the glen you can make a lovely 7km walk down to the castle, hang around in the beautiful gardens and have a cup of tea before getting up again. You'll see a waterfall, pass a fairytale like forest and walk aside the lake. It could be combined with a 1h walk up to the viewpoint.

Castle and grounds were incredible. If it wasn't raining the walk would have been a highlight I think! Tour was very expensive and we knew our little one wouldn't pay attention for long so we didn't do it unfortunately but the grounds are stunning!

Absolutely beautiful gardens and love the little bus trip. Coffee shop is yummy. Staff are wonderful, it started to rain as we were getting back on the bus, myself and my sister had taken my 7yr, 2yr and 2 month old out for the day, bus driver got out in pouring rain put my pram down for me put it... Definitely worth a visit. I've visited many stately homes and this is certainly one I would recommend. The guide was excellent, the charge token, and the cafe food very good too. Didn't feel as if I was looking at something contrived but instead visiting someone's home. I would have like there to have been something on what was happening during... More

Glenveagh Castle is well worth visiting. The gardens and grounds are lovely. The weather was not the best the day we visited so we didn't go in search of the Golden eagles. We'll have to go back for that. The restaurant in the visitor centre is really good with a nice selection of food. The shuttle service to the castle... More

I went with my husband and my sister on a Saturday afternoon after our coastal trip in the north west for the whole morning. Weather was very windy and misty and sunny (just being a typical Irish weather), when we visit the park and castle. Initially we got lost finding the place although we know already where it was. Google... More

Was not sure what to expect was astounded when I saw the breathtaking beauty of the area. Travelled with my husband and 2 young children from our hotel in Letterkenny. The visitor centre provides good information on the background to the area. The grounds are lovely and well kept, small kids area which our children loved. We took the bus... More
