Pack some food water/drinks and toilet paper. There is no store there .Take a water taxi beside the Ferry terminal, get their mobile number if you want to go back. If you want to spend a night or two , you need to book a chalet with Labuan Corporation at 013-8507144 or 087-408650 on week days. Things to do are explore ,fishing, snorkel and lounge on the beach.

we went there for a BBQ. please be careful when entering the water. stonefish and stingray are everywhere in this part of the sea. always bring a mobile phone. Tip: visit the small islands around Labuan. they are much better and the water is not so oily from the ships.

Went over for the day. This is what I see as the real asia with no frills. All business. Dirty, busy and lots of cheap duty free. Not much time between arrival and departure from Kota Kinabalu. 3 hour ferry ride each way. Very relaxing.
A is a working port that needs a bit of love an attention. It has some of the biggest ocean going work boats I have seen in the harbour. Monsters. Lots of shops and places to eat. Felt very safe as people did not seem to be looking at anything other than getting on with their business. Had some good food at a local hotel and prices were very low at 10 MYR pp and food was excellent.
Make sure if you come by Ferry that you are aware of the duty free restrictions as their is a customs and bag check. Need to allow much more time to explore Labuan in its own right. Well worth 3 nights at least.

Fun little island off the coast of Labuan's waterfront that allows one to unwind amidst the sun, surf and beach. Camp on the beach, hike to the lighthouse, throw a frisbee, snorkel just off the shoreline, have a drink at the beach bar or spend a night at one of the chalets available, in a simple nomadic beachbum setting and you won't be disappointed!

Pulau Papan is a simple garden if you have limited time to visit in Pulau Labuan. Trip cost is cheap compare to other Island , The boat is very exciting during our visit on 1st Jan 2018. Beach is just good , when there is not much people there, Remember to bring your sun protection cream....,,, Take a long walk along the jungle track ..... the other side of Island is better but make sure the group are good swimmer.

I spent a good 1 hour there on my final day at Labuan Island. Took a 10 minutes water taxi ride from the Ferry Terminal (Rm20 return trip) and took a walk on the beach.

The water is amazingly clean even from the jetty where the taxi dropped us off, probably because there's not many inhabitants there. Government workers from the Pusat Pentadbiran (Administrative Office), couple of boatmen, fisherman, that's about it.

There are some chalets in the island but I was told it cost "Rm300 something per night" by the boatmen but hey, it's a seemingly private and quite little island - no polluting vehicles, no 7-Eleven, well paved walkway, clean seaside, clean air and hungry mosquitoes even during day time!

I was pretty attracted to a well that they dug situated along a the walkway facing the seaside - the locals use the well to take a bath and wash their clothes. Unless you really have to go, the public toilet is less than satisfactory ... just use the well to wash your hands and feet if you're sweating from the heat or simply wanting to cool off.

The practice of using a well - take and use as much water as you want and pour away leftovers, do not pour unused water back into the well! I know it's common sense but I have seen tourists do that which is very inconsiderate.

Quiet and great place to do a retreat with friends and family. This is a great place to embrace nature while playing volleyball and enjoy the breeze.
