Went on a Ghost walk two nights before Halloween. So well done to Sussex Darkside, who organized it. Very entertaining in very atmospheric surroundings.

A very lovely garden to stroll around followed by a good cup of tea in the cafe. In the same courtyard, visit the exhibition of the old rope factory, made even more interesting if the blacksmith has got the forge fired up.

The plan was to have lunch at the Giants Rest and make our way to The Priory. We had just over an hour to visit the House/Priory. Fo ( Delicious home cooked food and lots of gluten free offerings as well!!) Found that we had time to get an idea of the garden too. Interesting history and to know that... More

The priory was extremely interesting to explore with references to its origin and information about its use in WW2 when evacuees stayed there. There is plenty to see outside including a replica Bronze Age roundhouse. There is also a play area for children across one of the bridges over the moat. Even though we visited the priory on a cold... More

£7 to get in was disappointed this year with the lack of stalls , every year have been and seems to be getting less and less each year , big shame as it gets you in the mood for Christmas ended up going to Amex which was cheaper and lot more on offer xxx

I love to take my toddler here for walks around the grounds and to see the ducks. The ducks are... well, some would say 'friendly' others would say 'intimidating'! They are certainly not afraid of humans and will sit underneath your picnic bench nipping at your toes, hoping to get some tasty morsels... Quite harmless though so we don't mind!... More

We visited here whilst of holiday in Hastings, and what a great choice for a day out! The house was great, with something for the children to do and learn about in each room. They loved getting hands on with the old scales, dressing up, colouring, building, playing old style games and all sorts! The staff were really helpful, and... More

Beautiful building with very helpful guides lots of interesting exhibits especially the room with artefacts from the 1940's. Lovely grounds well worth paying 50p for bag of duck food just for the entertainment of watching them gobble it all up. Could easily spend a day here just enjoying the tranquillity of the gardens. Reduced entry fee for senior citizens.

I stopped this historical building on the map and then saw a sign by the road that for the weekend we were in the area they had a Medieval weekend. We went and really enjoyed our visit. The priory was fascinating, the grounds beautiful and the medieval re-enactment a real bonus.
