A Stunning Underworld Experience, the Great Stalactite at Doolin Cave is one of Europe's most compelling cave attractions. It is a truly unique and breathtaking experience:- the largest stalactite in the Norhern Hemisphere. Doolin Cave has a Farmland Nature Trail, which is FREE for its visitors. We have unusual breeds of chickens, sheep, cattle and alovely pygmy goat called Minnie, with her little kid called Vincent Van Goat or Vinnie for short. We have also planted lots of native trees and shrubs and wildflower meadows. Our cafe serves lovely fresh salads, soups, breads and homemade cakes We are very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a Gold Award from Ecotourism Ireland. Hurray!

Visits are by guided tour only and there are numerous steps and low ceilings (hard hats supplied) to negotiate. The gentleman guide explained all this beforehand and was first class. His commentary lifts our 4* rating to 5* or more! The great stalactite has to be seen to be believed and on the surface there is a nice cafe and... More

We went here on our last day in Doolin for breakfast and we weren't disappointed. There was lots of choice, the food was cooked perfectly and the coffee was excellent.

Doolin Cave is a small but perfectly formed attraction. It's about a ten minute drive from Doolin itself - could be better signposted on the way but you'll get there if you persevere. We arrived for the first tour in the morning and were joined by a small family so we were a nice small group. I would advise going... More

What a fun, educational activity. I almost skipped this place, as we needed to get on to our next destination. But I'm glad we didn't. Their is a nature walk outside of the cave that is simply beautiful. And the journey down into the cave itself was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Our tour guide was a very well informed... The visit to the cave takes around 45 minutes. The guide was very nice to us and explained everything in detail. The stalactite was awesome and the coffee outside the cave serves good food. I would recommend it to my friends.

Great experience! The tour was great and very informative. When we were making our way to where the stalactite was located, the lights were turned off. We were wondering why and then once we all got in the lights went on! Breathtaking!! Now we know why the lights were off!! The stories behind the cave and how it was found... More

Hi Laure, Thanks for your great review, it really is a genuine surprise when the lights are turned on and the great stalactite appears from the darkness. "The palest gleam in the darkest deep" as it is poetically called! More
