We went last summer a few time and One of the days we watched a kid take a crap under a picnic table. The Staff was amazing and cleaned it up right away.

Access to Oakfield Provincial Park requires a winding drive on a relatively narrow two-lane paved road (with a short one-lane bridge span about midway), but the destination is worth the journey. The park grounds feature lots of parking, a large and mostly flat green space, several picnic benches scattered around, vault toilets, access to walking trails, a small swimming beach, and Shubenacadie Grand Lake access for paddled & motorized boats. The views of the lake and its shoreline are beautiful, and the grounds & facilities seemed well maintained when we visited in late May. With its free admission, Oakfield Park would be a great summer weekend destination for individuals, couples or families wanting to enjoy the outdoors away from the crowds.

Beautiful park, very nice water and definitely worth a swim if the weather is fine. Barbecue facilities, picknick tables, simple amenities.

I have visited this lake many times since 2015. It is kayak friendly and large enough to afford differing vistas and, with the wind up, varying, but sedate, paddling challenges.

We had a family event here and it's wonderful for families - plenty of picnic tables, drinking water, a playground and of course, a beach by the lake.

We really liked how a lot of the picnic areas are in the shade in the late afternoon/early evening. Definitely a place to enjoy being with family.

Just be sure to be out by 8 pm - or you'll find your vehicle locked in till the next day!

A great park for boating. The park is on grand lake with a boat launch. To be warned there are lots of dogs in the park. Lots of places to have a picket table. Did not see any camping. Day use only.

If you need to walk a long beach with warm sand in your toes, this isn't it.

However, the small beach area seems great for younger kiddies and toddlers. The other waterline areas are near picnic tables and there is a little island so teenagers end up having activities.

My wife and I walked the little forest paths, and I have windsurfed there... seems the boat launch is popular. We BBQ there many times per summer and let the kids fly kytes on the big grassy hill.

Now if you wanted a complaint... the mile or so drive near the end is a bit dusty...
