This is a must for anyone fantastic views and a real magical feel to the wood. We walked here with a Facebook group called walks around Kent and had a good walk around the woods by the orchard and up the viewing tower. This is a good wood for dogs and they totally love it here. I will be going... More

The woods are situated not far from Canterbury/ Faversham but they are reached on single track roads so be prepared to spend some time in a hedge on your way there. There are a couple of car parks which are well sited including one at the local pub. The woods are lovely and you have great views across the countryside... More

Perry Wood is well worth a visit if you want some panoramic views, some peace and quiet, strolls through unspoilt woodland, and maybe a pub lunch afterwards at The Rose and Crown. For a longer, more active walk there are many paths further out through orchards, fields and local villages. A delight.

What an area this must be to live in beautiful countryside and two country pubs, the area is officially an area of outstanding natural beauty and a wild life conservation area. The woods are a good place for children to play safely and there are fantastic places to have a picnic. The lanes surrounding Perry wood are quiet and are... More

Having downloaded free map we stopped in the free car park on Easter Sunday and had a most enjoyable circular walk around the wood and surrounding area, a route which took as approx 2 hours with various terrains and sights. First part of our route was the climb up to the viewing point from where we descended through the orchard... More

My wife and I found the free car park,I backed neatly into a space, got out to change into hiking shoes realised I was close to a hedge so pulled forward.Unbeknown to me I'd stepped in dog excrement. It was all over my shoes and car carpets. We both changed our shoes and set off on our walk. The trails were not signposted, every 10... What a wonderful day we had with our now grown up children with their little ones. Perry woods was one of our favourite haunts. Today it is still as beautiful as ever. Beautiful woodlands, peaceful and tranquil even on a bank holiday Monday. The car park was full, but because it covers a large area, we hardly saw anyone. Would... More

A greatly situated car park in the middle of a multitude of woodland walks and bridleways. There's even a pub nearby if you plan the route back right. Nice look out point too if you can find it.

Perry Wood is an oasis of calm and beauty in an increasingly frantic and busy world. A lovely wood set on a hill with superb views of delightful country side. In the atomised society in which we live somewhere in regain our sense of composure and find some happiness.
