I had read from others that when trying to enter as a tourist, you'd be given a guide and then you weren't allowed to walk around by yourself. We were lucky enough to visit the massive Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad on a Holy Day. The holy shrine attracts millions of Iranian and foreign pilgrims every year. The architecture is breathtaking. Don't forget to visit the holy shrine's museum, I enjoyed collections of shrine's old pictures; artifacts and pieces of arts belonging to 800-900 years ago.

I was there on the cusp of 2012/13, it was cold and my brother & his friend suggested we see the holy shrine. The place is considered the second Mecca among the Iranians and many pilgrims travel long distances to visit it. Mum and I, being all about the culture and holy places didn't have to be asked twice. What an atmosphere! !!!!!!!!!! Just love it !!!!! Holy shrines are so beautiful !!!!!!! The haram is also decorated very well and every single person there is kind n polite with others

The haram of imam reza is so peaceful and beautiful and it has such soiritual and relaxing environment that makes it a must see place even if you are not a muslim!

It's Best Shrine and great Holy for Shia and Muslims. has museum , very beautiful Architect . Anyway it's not a good place for tourist if they don't know about who is Imam Reza i Think (I am Muslims and maybe I write unilateral)
